Brian Reisinger
Brian Reisinger has built a career in storytelling, messaging, and public affairs that’s had an impact in the Midwest and across the country—starting with his time as an investigative journalist, through a series of strategic efforts he’s led in government and the private sector, and beyond. Brian is also an award-winning columnist and author, and in 2021 he was named to the American Association of Political Consultants’ “40 Under 40” list.
Brian has headed strategic initiatives for companies of all sizes, bipartisan ballot measures, statewide and national coalitions, policy thinktanks, and more. Early in his career, Brian spent a decade in journalism for daily new organizations and business publications. He covered the economy, finance, government/politics, legal affairs, publicly traded companies, and a range of industries. Going on to work in the public policy world, Brian served as an advisor, speechwriter, and media strategist in the U.S. Senate, working on a wide spectrum of issues, including energy, infrastructure, healthcare, education, labor, and more. He worked for the campaigns of U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander in 2014 and U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson in 2016, and was a Senior Advisor to Gov. Scott Walker.
Prior to joining Platform Communications, Brian founded Hilltop Strategies, a content writing, messaging, and communications firm. He joined Platform as the company’s first Vice President, then went on to serve as President, Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Content Officer. Now as Chief Executive Officer & Senior Writer, he charts company strategy, manages day-to-day operations with our management team, and oversees messaging and content development. One of his proudest accomplishments is working on a successful bipartisan initiative to strengthen legal rights for victims of domestic abuse and others navigating the justice system. Brian specializes in communications strategy, writing, messaging, crisis management, speech and media prep, ad campaigns, media relations, digital rapid response, and more. He brings clear focus, battle-tested experience, and unsurpassed work ethic to every situation.
Apart from his consulting work, Brian writes about rural issues. His nonfiction book Land Rich, Cash Poor, a hidden history of the disappearing American farmer, came out in August of 2024, and he is a regularly published columnist and magazine writer in publications covering the rural economy, policy, news, culture, the outdoors, and more. He splits his time between a small town in northern California near his wife’s family, and the family farm where he grew up in southern Wisconsin just west of Madison.
